Toasting Tutorial

We want you to have the best Swapple experience ever: here's how.

Arrangement of plant-based toaster waffles

These instructions are here to help you achieve the best, bread-like texture and taste for your Swapple, based on what you're working with at home. It's important to note that Swapples must be toasted for a good time, otherwise, they will come out gummy and chewy - the horror!

Toaster Oven:

  1. Microwave on high for 60-90 seconds until the waffle is completely thawed through center.
  2. Transfer to your toaster oven for 5-7 minutes, until the edges and surface achieve a crusty feel and light brown, toasted color.
Don't want to use the microwave? Skip it, and place in your toaster oven for 16-20 minutes until it is fully warmed and soft though the center, and the edges and surface achieve a crusty feel and a light brown, toasted color.

Slot Toaster:
  1. Microwave on high for 60-90 seconds until the waffle is completely thawed through center.
  2. Toast in your toaster for 2-3 rounds on the highest setting, OR until the edges and surface achieve a crusty feel and light brown, toasted color. Every toaster is different, so it may take some time to figure out what works best in your home!
Don't want to use the microwave? Skip it, and place in your toaster frozen. Toast for 4-5 rounds on the highest setting until it is fully warmed and soft though the center, and the edges and surface achieve a crusty feel and a light brown, toasted color.

Oven:
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
  2. Place your Swapple(s) on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Bake for 10 minutes on each side, OR longer as needed, until the waffle is fully warmed and soft through the center and the edges and surface achieve a crusty feel and light brown, toasted color.
